D.F. WHIPPLE

D.F. Whipple was born on November 10, 1965 and began writing short stories at the age of two. At ten, he starred in an educational film, The Big Yellow Fellow, which won the Golden Babe Award at the Chicago Educational Film Festival. After moving through four states, he attended high school in Pennsylvania, where he was graduated from Germantown Academy. He continued his education at Washington & Lee University (BA, 1988) and University of Pennsylvania (MBA/MA, 1992), then began an eleven-year career on Wall Street. Through his work and education, he lived in such diverse locales as London, Hong Kong, New York and the Midwestern United States.

In 2003, he left finance to establish a consulting practice, and at this time also immersed himself in acting classes at The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. After eighteen months of intensive study, he resolved to fuse his experiences into his first novel, Shadow Fields. He lives in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
